Something remarkable: A glimmer of sunshine in Leeds

Things are brightening up here. We've even got a glimmer of sunshine. A win for Leeds would push them up to 7th. Not many would have predicted that before the international break.

Daniel Farke: We could have had more points

By Luke Power

Speaking to TNT Sports:

'Really good. In terms of points, perhaps we deserved even more but performance-wise, we're competitive every game.

'It's always good that you don't have to rotate too much at the start of the season. But to have a few more offensive options available would've been good, like Daniel James!'

Why isn't he reading the Daily Mail?!

By Luke Power

One chap at Elland Road has risked it all by reading one of our rivals, seemingly The Times.

I must admit I'm a big fan of their sports reporting but how can he choose that over the inimitable work of Craig Hope, Oliver Holt, and Lewis Browning?

Stat pack

By Luke Power

Thanks to the stats boffins at Squawka for this one. They reveal how Richarlison is overperforming his Expected Goals, which suggests he may regress as the games pass by and things even out. Or maybe he'll just keep it up and continue to defy the metrics!

Thomas Frank: Time to beat Daniel Farke!

By Luke Power

Daniel Farke has beaten Thomas Frank three times, drawing twice.

Frank evidently wants to change that.

He told TNT Sports: 'There's been energy in all our games, intensity.

'This is a difficult place to go with a fantastic home crowd but we're ready.

'It's about time to beat Daniel Farke! I respect him a lot but let's put that aside!

'It's nice to see a coach who has been on a similar journye. I'm happy it's going well for him.'

Thomas Frank: Tottenham's medical team on the up

By Luke Power

Significantly, speaking to TNT Sports, Thomas Frank has praised the club's medical staff for getting Cristian Romero back fast. He's captain today.

'Well done to the medical team for the fast turnaround,' he said.

Not something they could always take as a guarantee over the past couple of years!

Why Angeball isn't working

By Luke Power

Required reading for any Spurs fans!

It never looked like a good idea to sack Nuno Espirito Santo and replace him with one of last season's most chaotic managers, who struggled to balance European football with the league, at a club embarking on their first continental campaign in a long time, overseen by one of the most combustible owners in football, who had just fallen out with the man he had got rid of.

But they did it anyway!

He's already under pressure and the fans are calling for him to go. Tom Collomosse, an insider at Forest, explains it all to us.

Nottingham Forest fans have experienced some toxic times over the years but nothing felt quite so furious or blood-thirsty as how quickly they turned on Ange Postecoglou on Thursday night.

Can Calvert-Lewin keep Leeds up?

By Luke Power

I must admit to being very puzzled when Leeds signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer.

The whole reason for dropping Patrick Bamford was because his availability can't be relied on and his goalscoring record in the top flight is mixed.

Sounds like... oh wait, Calvert-Lewin?

I'm happy for him to prove me wrong. He's got experience at this level, and that's valuable. He's scored one in five for Leeds so far. Getting that first goal against Wolves was important and you don't want to judge too early. I just worry about how much he'll be available.

Thomas Frank: One of the most genuine men in football?

By Luke Power

Thomas Frank is one of my favourite guys in football. Always comes across very warm, genuine, honest, and quite quirky.

Our very own Oliver Holt had the chance to play some padel with him earlier this year and gave a similarly glowing review of the man he met.

Leeds taking a 'BATTERING' today... by the weather!

Storm Amy is battering Leeds this morning. Just a heads up that Leeds haven't lost a league game here in over a year. That sums up the size of the task that awaits Tottenham Hotspur.

Anton Stach: Good fans can win you 'four or five points'

By Luke Power

I'm not sure it's an exact science, but Anton Stach has nailed his flag to the mast: good fans can win you 'four or five points' over the course of the season.

The Leeds faithful may just settle for him earning that for them after the club spent £17million on him in the summer. The midfielder, quite a jokey presence away from the field, has made a good start in West Yorkshire.

Leeds trouble the elite

By Luke Power

TNT Sports' pundits believe this season's newly promoted sides can buck the trend of going straight back down, and all the evidence points to that.

I felt sorry for Daniel Farke over the summer when there was talk of him being on the brink of losing his job. Yes, his record in the Premier League with Norwich is disastrous, but you can't fully blame him for their woes, and if he got Leeds promoted then he deserves a shot with them.

That 5-0 hammering by Arsenal was a bit scary for the fans, but they've settled in decently enough.

Tottenham travel troubles

By Luke Power

Alasdair Gold, always a useful source on Tottenham, has shared some information about his nightmare journey up to Leeds.

I'm sure plastic bag won't bring the entire nation's rails to a halt - actually, maybe it will these days - but has delayed Alasdair's trai, an d presumably the journeys of quite a few fans.

Tottenham arrive

By Luke Power

Well, at least it looks like we have a football match - the away team have arrived on time. Never a guarantee at grassroots level but it tends to happen in the Premier League.

Whoever that kid is farming all the high-fives, fair play to him. Got a great position there.

A brotherly clash?

By Luke Power

When Archie and Harry Gray were growing up together, it would have only been in their wildest dreams that they could play against each other. Could it happen today?

Could is the operative word there. Archie, 19, is an established star for Spurs. Harry, 16, still has a way to go. He made his debut as a sub against Stoke last season.

Football managers aren't much for sentimentalism (looking at you last season, Peterborough's Darren Ferguson!) but it would be a nice tale.

'I think half of the family will be in the Spurs end and half of them in the Leeds end!' said Archie.

Storm Amy has her wicked way

By Luke Power

It could be a poncho sort of day.

A yellow weather alert warning is in place for Leeds thanks to the wind and the rain carried on its coat-tails.

I guess we're officially into 'if you can't do it on a rainy Tuesday night in Stoke' territory, except we're not in Stoke and it's not Tuesday.

Frank's solid start

By Luke Power

It might be a stormy day in Leeds, but at least the weather has been fairly serene under Thomas Frank.

Alright, their trip to Bodo/Glimt in midweek was pretty disappointing, but we shouldn't be snobbish about the Norwegian champions.

Spurs are sitting pretty in the Premier League, fifth to be exact, and their new frontline is something to behold. Kudus and Simons have made convincing starts and they have two or three good options to call on in each position.

The Leeds fortress

By Luke Power

Something that might have slipped under the radar is that Leeds are unbeaten in their last 23 home league games.

With 15 wins and eight draws in that time, Leeds fans are enjoying a run which stretches back to September last year.

They've made a decent start to Premier League life, sitting 12th in the table, so Tottenham should face a challenge here.
