Jaxson Dart's proud mom gives emotional interview on son's New York Giants start

After watching her son dismantle the reigning Super Bowl champions, Jaxson Dart's mom Kara gave an emotional interview about his start to life with the Giants.

In his third NFL game since being promoted ahead of veteran Russell Wilson, Dart showed out as he completed 17 of 25 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown.

And, unlike last week's loss to New Orleans, when he tossed a pair of interceptions, Dart didn't commit any turnovers on Thursday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

It marked his most impressive performance since joining the Giants and mom Kara, who first went viral on the night of the NFL Draft, made sure to wax lyrical about her son during a postgame interview.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, she said: 'Well, I'm gonna get emotional. I think when you have a child that works as hard as he does, and dreams as big as he dreams, that's what you want for him. You want him to reach those dreams. So, it's really special.'

Meanwhile, Dart's dad, Brandon, said: 'Jax knew they were gonna have a good chance tonight.

'He has unbelievable faith in his coaches and his teammates. Right when he left, he said, 'We're gonna be good.' 

Meanwhile, Dart himself said:  ‘It’s a lot of fun being able to play at this level against the best. We’re just trying to do our best.’

Dart's mom Kara has been his biggest supporter during his brief journey in the NFL thus far, after first capturing the attention of fans on draft night earlier this year. 

Fans were then reintroduced to Kara when Dart led the New York Giants to a stunning win over the Los Angeles Chargers on his NFL debut back in September.

She was shown consistently throughout the CBS live broadcast of the game on Sunday afternoon and on RedZone, cheering her son on during his big day. 

It didn't go unnoticed at all by plenty of NFL fans during the game, who took to social media to claim it was a very deliberate ploy by the broadcaster.

'Jaxson Dart's mom is getting more RedZone than the Titans,' one football viewer wrote on X on Sunday.

Another said: 'Please CBS keep it up with the shots to Jaxson Dart’s mom.'

Dart has said before how his mom was a significant influence over his football career during his college days.

And Kara herself even said that she raised her son to grow comfortable in uncomfortable situations.

'For so many years now, he has not felt comfortable. We have a phrase at our house - you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Because so much of life is that,' Kara said in an interview with Ole Miss Rebels YouTube channel in 2024.

Dart himself has spoken about his mother's influence - especially when it comes to playing smart and staying safe as a quarterback.

He told GQ last August: 'Honestly, when I'm on the field, I hate sliding. I hate just going down. I always like to give a little shoulder or do something to get a few extra yards.

'But my mom is definitely the hardest one about me sliding. I'll go see her, give her a hug, and she'll try to hype me up. But after every little interaction, she always reminds me to slide. That's her go-to every single time. 

'If she thinks I didn't hear it when I walk away, she'll make sure to scream it even louder.'
