Bailey Smith is branded a 'toolie' on live radio - as footy legend reveals shocking photo he got from the controversial star

Geelong Cats pin-up Bailey Smith has been sensationally labelled a 'toolie' on live radio just before AFL legend Nick Riewoldt revealed he recently received a photo from the midfielder that he won't forget in a hurry.

Smith, 24, headed to the Gold Coast earlier this week during one of the busiest times of the year on the Glitter Strip.

Thousands of students are letting their hair down at Surfers Paradise after finishing their final exams.

Schoolies is in full swing - and the Daily Mail reported Smith was spotted socialising with a number of starry-eyed youngsters.

The footy star clearly enjoys relaxing on the Gold Coast, where he previously started dating influencer Tammy Hembrow.

Their high-profile dalliance didn't last long, but Smith seemingly still can't get enough of the popular tourist destination.

After hearing Smith was back in Queensland, comedian Mick Molloy labelled the footy star a 'toolie', pointing to the nickname given to older adults who hang around during Schoolies.

The light-hearted conversation on Triple M then took a wild turn after Riewoldt stated Smith had sent him a private message on Instagram.

'All I know is... Bailey Smith dropped into my DMs,' the St Kilda legend began. 

'I had a message from Bazlenka (Smith's Instagram handle) and thought, what do we have here?

'I opened it up and it was a photo of Bailey Smith with my mum!

'Does that make Mum a "moolie" given Bailey is a toolie?

'It turned out to be very wholesome... as it turns out, Mum actually taught Bailey at school.

'He spotted her at the airport and said hello before posing for a photo which he sent to me on Instagram.'

Molloy then joked that Riewoldt should urge Smith to 'get his paws off my mum'.
