The Brisbane Broncos have shocked the NRL world by unveiling a new logo and uniform that have divided fans.

It's the NRL premiers' first emblem change since their premiership victory in 2006, and comes after they beat Melbourne in the 2025 grand final.

The modern design features a forward-facing Bronco, a shield nodding to the original 1988 logo, and the Brisbane River flowing through the mark.

Reaction to the news from fans has been mixed.

Some have slammed the new emblem on social media, producing similar comments to those seen when the Bulldogs released their hated new emblem last month.

'This makes me feel better as a bulldogs fan. We no longer have the worst logo in the comp,' one X user wrote.

'Can we just go back to the classic original and be done with it? This seems unnecessary,' another said.

But there have been a few positive reactions to the announcement as well.

'It's actually really good', one Instagram user wrote.

'Actually rate this', another said.

Brisbane's unveiling of their new logo has been coupled with the reveal of their 2026 home and away jerseys.

The home jersey's design is stock standard, and exactly what fans have come to expect, but the away kit has surprised fans due to its predominantly midnight-blue colour.

The jersey has been designed that way to pay tribute to Cyril Connell, who was the chief talent scout for the Broncos for almost 20 years.

Some have been left unimpressed with the use of the different colour.

Cyril Connell is credited for bringing Darren Lockyer (pictured right, with former Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett) to the Broncos

'Blue? Someone must still be celebrating the GF. Queensland is Maroon. There is nothing wrong with the white with maroon and gold. Blue is not Queensland,' one social media user said.

'No thanks. Colour looks too close to the [Melbourne] Storm,' another claimed.

Connell is credited for bringing the likes of Darren Lockyer, Shane Webcke and also Petero Civoniceva to Brisbane – and the new jersey is a take on the club's 2010 tribute kit to the longtime scout, who passed away in 2009.

The club is hoping their new emblem can symbolise the start of a new era.

'This is more than just a logo – it's a statement of who we are, where we're from and importantly, where we're headed,' said CEO Dave Donaghy.

Brisbane's rebrand also introduces a powerful new battle cry for the next era dubbed 'We Charge On'.
