Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Smith has agreed a bumper four-year, $96million contract extension which makes him the highest-paid guard in NFL history.
Smith's new deal in Dallas includes a total of $81.2m guaranteed, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The 24-year-old is currently in his fourth season with the Cowboys after being selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Smith is playing the 2025 campaign on the final year of his four-year, $13.4m rookie contract, with the Cowboys reportedly exercising the $21.2m fifth-year option on his terms for 2026 prior to April's draft.
His lucrative new deal means he has edged ahead of Trey Smith, who penned a $94m extension with the Kansas City Chiefs back in July, as the NFL's most expensive guard ever.
Despite being selected by the team to play guard, Smith initially moved to left tackle in Dallas to replace an injured Tyron Smith. He went on to start all 17 games there in his rookie year and continued his role as their versatile option in his second.

The former Tulsa college star has since nailed down the primary left guard position, which earned him a second consecutive Pro Bowl selection in 2024.
The Cowboys have tied him down to fresh terms a little more than two weeks after trading star pass rusher Micah Parsons to Green Bay after a long contract stalemate.
The Dallas line is in transition after seven-time All-Pro right guard Zack Martin and Tyron Smith retired this past offseason. Tyron Smith played a final season with the New York Jets.
Meanwhile, the team has discovered that Dak Prescott will not face any further punishment after a Week 1 incident against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footage from the opening game of the NFL season showed Prescott spit on the ground before the first play of the contest - in the vicinity of injured fullback Ben VanSumeren, who was later carted off the field.
This attracted the attention of Philadelphia pass rusher Jalen Carter, who took Prescott's actions personally.
Carter confronting Prescott, later claiming the quarterback's actions were 'hostile', and then spit back at the Cowboys quarterback.
Officials saw Carter spit at him, flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct, and then promptly ejected him from the game.
While Prescott will not receive any further punishment for the action which sparked the tiff, Carter was punished by the league.
