A 19-year-old college basketball player has been identified as one of the victims in a triple shooting on Saturday night during a party on Long Island.

Amira McCleod, a player for Monroe University - located in The Bronx - was one of the three victims in a shooting outside a home in the city of Hempstead.

Two 20-year-old men were also struck as bullets flew. CBS 2 New York reports the men were students at Nassau Community College.

Nassau Police say the two men are in stable condition. However, McCleod was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCleod was killed hours after she reached a season high in minutes played for the Monroe Express women's basketball team.

Police say an investigation into the incident is still ongoing. No arrests have been made.

McCleod, a sophomore at the school in The Bronx, was studying business administration

One guest at the party told CBS, 'I was inside, and I heard shots, and everybody started running and everything. The police came quick.

'Everything happened outside. Like, we didn't know anything was gonna happen.'

McCleod had played nine games of her sophomore season before her tragic death - with her team off to an 8-1 start to the campaign.

Just hours before, she played a season high 30 minutes in a 67-44 victory over Dutchess Community College.

Hours before her death, she logged a season-high for minutes in a win with the Express

According to her bio on the team website, she chose the junior college located in the borough's Fordham neighborhood because, 'I wanted to be surrounded by a group of people who care about me but also my future as well.'

McCleod planned to continue her education at 'a four-year school' after leaving Monroe. She studied business administration and dreamed of opening her own store to sell sneakers and clothing.

The school described McCleod as a 'cherished member of our Express women's basketball team' in a statement to the New York Post.

'We are in close contact with Amira's family, teammates, and roommates, offering our full support as they navigate this unimaginable loss.'
