Caitlin Clark's real feelings about now-former teammate DeWanna Bonner have been revealed after she was waived by the Indiana Fever on Wednesday after a demanding a trade.

Bonner had been away from the Fever since June 10 for 'personal reasons' with this being the conclusion to the 37-year-old's short tenure with the team.

Now, Clark's comments on adding the veteran have surfaced now that the two don't share a locker room.

'Just the way she talks and she leads, for me as a second-year point guard, I want to win for her. This is the end of her career. She deserves it,' Clark said in April.

'D.B’s been tremendous, and, obviously, not only as a leader. She’s a tremendous basketball player, too. She’s won championships. She knows what it is. So when she speaks, everybody listens. I think that’s a piece of the thing we were missing last year.'

By offloading Bonner, who is now free to sign with another franchise, the Fever signed guard Aari McDonald for the rest of the year.

The market for the 37-year-old Bonner is unknown as she is in the twilight of her career.

'I want to sincerely thank the Indiana Fever for the opportunity to be part of the Fever franchise. Despite our shared goals and excitement heading into the season, I felt the fit did not work out and I appreciate the organization’s willingness to grant my request to move on, particularly at this point in my career,' Bonner said in a news release.

'I wish the Fever great success as they continue to build around this dynamic group of young players.'

Bonner did not expand on why she thought it was not a good fit. The team does have a few solid post players starting in her typical role, such as Aliyah Boston.

Lexie Hull took Bonner's spot for her final six appearances with the team, which all came off the bench.

Bonner only played in nine games for the franchise, averaging 7.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Bonner also spoke favorably of Clark when she joined the Fever.

'She’s such a dynamic player,' Bonner said. 'She does a lot for this team and we understand that.

'I think everybody here just wants to make her life easier, and she wants to make everybody else’s life easier. I'm ready to put it all together. Our relationship is going great, I love C.'
