The defending AFC-champion Kansas City Chiefs held a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk and the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks prior to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kirk, the far-right political commentator, was assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

The following day, the NFL mandated that the Green Bay Packers hold a moment of silence before 'Thursday Night Football' against the Washington Commanders.

Since then, the decision to hold a moment of silence for Kirk has been at the discretion of the teams involved.

Kansas City made the decision to do just that, with the public address announcer at Arrowhead Stadium asking for a moment to honor not only Kirk, but the victims of the 9/11 attacks which occurred 24 years ago this past Thursday.
