Bad Bunny isn't doing much to cool the outrage around his Super Bowl halftime show next year.

The singer was at the New York Yankees baseball playoff game on Tuesday night, enjoying one of the best seats in the house for the team's dramatic comeback win against Toronto Blue Jays.

Traditionally, the Yankees welcome a veteran onto the field at the bottom of the seventh inning before the crowd stand for a rendition of 'God Bless America'.

But fans noticed that the musician, real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, stayed seated during the performance in the Bronx, as per TMZ.

The publication of the video on Wednesday immediately sparked an angry backlash from some observers amid an underlying concern he could use his Super Bowl performance in Santa Clara in February to make a political statement against President Trump.

'He acts like this because he can,' one angry fan wrote on X about the video. 'I'm sure if the potential socialist mayor of NY gets elected he will join him next time.'

Video has emerged of the Puerto Rican artist staying seated for 'God Bless America'

Fans were left outraged as footage of the incident began to circulate online on Wednesday

Another said: 'Bad bunny sits down during God Bless America at the Yankees game and he’s the one chosen for the Super Bowl half time show?? Really? Count me out.

'This country needs to wake up. Come on people. Boycott this kind of stuff.'

A different fan posted: 'And this is who the NFL picked for their Superbowl Halftime show America.. Definitely won't be watching..'

But the Puerto Rican musician otherwise enjoyed his night, not only witnessing an incredible Yankees fightback but also catching a foul ball from Blue Jays first baseman Anthony Santander.

The viral moments comes just days after Donald Trump called the NFL's decision to give the Super Bowl halftime show to the Puerto Rican artist 'crazy'.

The president told Newsmax that he was unfamiliar with the 31-year-old musician but that the NFL was wrong to give him the prestigious gig given his previously stated dislike for Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

'I never heard of him, I don't know who he is, I don't know why they're doing it, it's like, crazy,' the president said.

He also felt that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was blaming the decision 'on some promoter they hired.'

'I think it's absolutely ridiculous,' Trump added.

The rapper was the host of 'Saturday Night Live' this week and during his opening monologue, he addressed his haters.

'You might not know this but I'm doing the Super Bowl halftime show and I'm very happy and I think everyone is happy about it - even Fox News,' Bad Bunny said.

A heavily-edited clip then played, stitching together the comments of various Fox anchors and pundits so that they said: 'Bad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.'

He continued: 'Thank you. Wow, thank you. But really, I am very excited to be doing the Super Bowl and I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy.'

The rapper than spoke in Spanish for several seconds before finishing his monologue by saying: 'If you did not understand what I just said... you have four months to learn!'
