Aston Villa have completed the signing of Harvey Elliott on a season-long loan, with a £35million obligation to buy the Liverpool star next summer.
Elliott, still just 22 but with a wealth of Premier League of experience under his belt, has faced an uncertain future at Anfield all summer.
RB Leipzig were interested in English playmaker but Unai Emery's side are now nearing a deal for him.
Despite his affection for the club, Elliott previously indicated his intention for the summer when he admitted he cannot continue 'wasting years' of his career.
'It's just a situation that me and the team on my behalf have to have a conversation about, because I'm coming to an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season, and I don't really want to be wasting years of my career, because it's a short career,' Elliott said.
'I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself and the best player I can be.

'If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.'
Elliott came off the bench in the Community Shield defeat by Crystal Palace, missing a penalty in the shootout.
He was also given a few minutes towards the end of the dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle at St James' Park, moments before Rio Ngumoha's winner.
Elliott played no part in the win over Arsenal on Sunday and it appears that he has played his final game for the champions.
