All the evidence Travis Kelce proposed to Taylor Swift immediately after recording their New Heights episode

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his fiancee Taylor Swift announced their engagement on August 26 — a full 13 days after her guest appearance on his podcast.

Recorded and released on August 13, that New Heights episode is now believed to have served as a necessary distraction for a proposal that took place that very same day.

According to Page Six, loyal Swifties and various internet sleuths, the engagement photos seen by hundreds of millions on social media were taken soon after her widely publicized New Heights interview at his Kansas City-area home.

'Also he needed her distracted so they could set up it all makes so much sense,' one Swiftie remarked online. 

Kelce reportedly hired the crew to construct a magical garden theme while they were filming the satellite interview with his brother Jason. The sly tactic ensured she was left surprised by the proposal, while also having her hair and makeup prepped for those very same engagement pics.

'He knew that he wanted to marry her. [The date] was just a matter of when the timing was right,' a source told Page Six. 'It was less about the significance of the time and [more about] when he could actually do it in between her tour and his season.'

The timing was certainly appreciated by fans, one of whom wrote it was so 'considerate of him to do it the same day.' 

Kelce's dad Ed, let it slip to Cleveland's WEWS the engagement happened 'maybe two weeks' before the announcement.

'Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,' said the elder Kelce. 'He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.'

'And I told him repeatedly, you know, 'You could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event... when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.''

Fans, meanwhile, point to visual clues in the engagement photos, like the slight indentation in Swift's hair where her headphones would have sat during the New Heights interview.

Swift's nail treatment and accessories were also congruent from the podcast to the proposal, giving her loyal fans another reason to suspect an August 13 engagement.

Kelce fans could not be reached for comment and probably don't care when the engagement took place.
