Ruben Amorim still hopes Bryan Mbeumo will be able to make his Manchester United debut on the club's summer tour of the US after missing the win over West Ham at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Mbeumo completed his £71million move from Brentford just in time to join United's three-match trip to America.
But he was too far behind in his pre-season preparations to feature in the opening game of the Premier League Summer Series as two goals from captain Bruno Fernandes gave Amorim's side victory over the Hammers.
The 25-year has been working out with United's players in Chicago, both at Soldier Field and the Chicago Fire's training headquarters, the Endeavour Health Performance Center.
Amorim admitted that Mbeumo won't feature in the second game either when they take on Bournemouth at Soldier Field in the early hours of Thursday morning.
However, the United boss is hopeful that the Cameroon international could play a part in the last game against Everton at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta next Sunday.

Ruben Amorim revealed that Mbeumo won't feature against Bournemouth next week
'He is not going to play the next one,' said Amorim, who put his players through a training session after game in New Jersey before they got straight on a flight back to Chicago from Westchester.
'We hope to have Bryan in the last game. He is training now, so we will see.'
United still have one more friendly – against Fiorentina at Old Trafford on August 9 – before they kick off the season at home to Arsenal eight days later.
On Saturday night, Fernandes' double gave United a 2-1 win against West Ham, who scored through Jarrod Bowen in the second half.
