Barstool Sports boss and Red Sox superfan Dave Portnoy was enraged by the Yankees last night as they cost him a bet in stunning fashion.
The Bronx Bombers hosted the Mariners at home, and Portnoy's bet that Seattle would win looked to be in good shape leading up until the eighth inning, when the visitors held a 5-0 lead.
From there, the Yankees went on to earn a memorable comeback win in extra innings - as Portnoy rued his bad luck.
'I bet the Mariners tonight. Winning 5-0 and throwing a no hitter until the bottom of 8th. Now heading to extras. This league will kill you,' he wrote on X.
He later added: 'I will not sleep tonight.'
And he was certainly up early the next morning, as he wrote at 6:11am: 'I can’t believe the Mariners blew that game last night.'

The Yankees, who are just 13-17 in their last 30 games, will hope their series sweep against the Mariners will get their season back on track after falling in the AL standings.
The Bombers are at least faring better than Portnoy's beloved Red Sox, who are three games behind their rivals in the AL East.
Portnoy's unsuccessful Mariners bet comes after he wrongly predicted Caitlin Clark would dominate in her return from a groin injury.
For the first time since June 24, Clark suited up for the Fever on Wednesday against the Valkyries - and Portnoy bet on her to have 20+ points, 10+ assists, 5+ rebounds, and 4+ 3-pointers at +1000 odds.
However, the bet didn't come to fruition as Clark totaled just 10 points and the Fever were blown out 80-61
Portnoy posted to X that the game was 'DISGUSTING' before admitting to turning off the game because 'it was so pathetic.'
