A Premier League club have banned one of their players from certain social media usage and threatened a fine, according to the star himself.

Alex Iwobi has been known to share behind the scenes footage at Fulham onto his Snapchat account, including some snaps from the club changing room.

He has been doing that since his days with Everton, having played for the Toffees between 2019 and 2023 before making the move to London and Fulham.

The videos have gone down a huge hit, and have included some singing videos with former team-mate Dominic Calvert-Lewin and another of Adama Traore and Calvin Bassey wrestling in the Fulham changing room.

Recently, though, the videos have disappeared and fans have been left wondering why, but the former Arsenal midfielder has himself explained why that has been the case.

He explained that someone within the club raised the issue, and that a fine has been threatened if he continues.

The midfielder would often share changing room footage that fans don't often get to see

'For those that are wondering why I haven't been snapping BTS in the changing room, one person in the media team has been saying I haven't been catching the right stuff,' Iwobi said in a Snapchat video.

He added: 'So, there's no more BTS. They also said I might get fined if I continue to do so, they're trying to ban snap in our changing room.

'That's why I ain't been snapping BTS, it's a shame, I know you guys enjoy seeing what my team-mates are like behind the scenes. But, I have to respect the rules.'

Footballers have enjoyed giving behind-the-scenes insights into their careers, with fans exposed to content they don't often see.

Another player to have done so is Nottingham Forest star and Iwobi's international team-mate Ola Aina, who was involved in a battle with Iwobi after the two sides' game in February.

Speaking to The Athletic about the battle, Iwobi said: 'It became a Snapchat derby. Especially because me and Ola grew up together. We went to the same school and grew up on the same road.

'I'm just happy we beat Forest home and away. Ola messaged me saying, 'Alex, don't even entertain or mention my name.'

'I was like, "Bro, don't worry, I'll spare you, but I'll let you know we won".'
