NFL quarterback suffers humiliating 'burner account' blunder amid nightmare preseason

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is being roasted by football fans for his gaffe when posting a comment on his own Instagram post.

With the preseason done and dusted, the former Miami Dolphins signal caller shared a gallery of images from his first preseason with the Falcons.

He posted it from his @tuaman account with the caption 'For the A [salute emoji]' on Tuesday morning.

But fans quickly noticed a comment left under that post which was left by the exact same account.

'We're so proud of you!! You got this,' the post read.

Fans quickly jumped on the chance to mock Tagovailoa for the clear error.

'Bro forgot to switch his burner,' one user posted in response.

A Dolphins fan mockingly posted: 'Thx for the fumble. Made us feel like you were still part of the team.' 

There were also plenty of commenters who chose to just leave the same words that 'Tua' posted. 

The comment was later switched from the Alabama product's account to one belonging to his wife, Anna Tagovailoa. It's highly possible that Anna has access to her husband's account and simply didn't switch to her own.

The blunder is the latest in a rough summer for Tagovailoa, who was projected to be the Falcons starter. However, his performance has been so bad that NFL Network reported it's 'impossible' for new Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski to give him that honor. 

Instead, the Falcons may turn to their starter from last season – Michael Penix Jr – who is coming off a torn ACL.
