Follow Daily Mail Sport's live blog for the latest score, team news and updates as Manchester City host Manchester United at the Etihad in the Premier League, with Oliver Holt, Jack Gaughan and Chris Wheeler reporting from the grounds.

Emotional atmosphere

This is a proper derby day atmosphere.

It feels as though there is a little extra oomph to the noise after the horrible news we heard earlier today.

The city of Manchester lost one of its most treasured men, Ricky Hatton, this morning.

The teams have now emerged from the tunnel, and they are now making their way to teh centre circle for a minute's applause in Hatton's honour.

There is an extra element of emotion to this one now.

'Amorim being safe'

Lammens has been facing some shots from his new teammates before kick-off on the off-chance he’s needed today. Makes complete sense to leave the Belgian on the bench today.
The upside of a solid performance is nothing compared to the downside of making a mistake in the glare of a Manchester derby that could take a long time to live down.
Amorim has also played it a little safer by naming Mazraoui at right wing-back instead of Diallo who pushes further forward, and bringing back Manuel Ugarte.

'Not an elite clash anymore'

There was a time, not too long ago, when the Manchester derby represented one of the elite clashes in English football. Not anymore. United are an average team at best.
City, once so imperious, are fighting to be more than average. It's not quite an afterthought but Liverpool and Arsenal won't be worrying too much about how it pans out.

Blockbuster afternoon ahead

Thanks, Kim!

So, how are we all feeling?

There aren't many bigger games in world football than the Manchester derby, even when they aren't at the peak of their powers.

This fixture has given us many a cracking game over the years, and I am hoping for another today.

Kick-off is almost upon us.

10 minutes to go!

The time is almost near and you can really feel the excitement building.

I don't know about you but this feels like it could be a tight one.

You get the sense it could go either way with both sides out of form.

I'm going to pass you onto Harry, who's going to take you through all of the action.

Enjoy!

A sense of shock around the Etihad about the death of Ricky Hatton

There's a sense of shock at the Etihad about the death of Ricky Hatton.
Hatton was a fanatical City fan and City fans were fanatical Hatton fans.
I covered his fights in Las Vegas and there was always a sense of a Blue army on the move to watch him out there.
He represented a lot of what is best about City's support.

Amorim not looking into Man City's slow start

Ruben Amorim has insisted he is not reading into Man City's slow start to the season ahead of their crunch derby clash.

It's the same thing. It's a top team with, for me, the best coach in the league.
A team that is really hard to imagine how they are going to play, they change all the time.
But we are prepared for that and we believe in our team and I have that feeling, so it will be a very good game.
We know what to do. We have one more training (session). The table, in the moment, it doesn't matter.”

Large police presence around the Etihad

Even for a derby, there was an unusually large police presence along Ashton New Road as I walked in earlier.
That could have been to do with a planned gathering to wave in the Manchester City bus which (unhelpfully for home supporters) arrived at the stadium around half an hour early.

Gloomy Manchester

This post should come as no surprise to anybody but it is raining in in Manchester.

Some supporters appear more prepared than others in their ponchos while others are getting creative and finding alternative ways to shield themselves from the rain.

Phil Foden pays tribute to Hatton - 'Today is for him'

Speaking ahead of the clash, Phil Foden paid tribute to boxing legend and Man City supporter Ricky Hatton who sadly passed away this morning.

My heart goes out to his family in this hard time.
Obviously, to hear the news just before a big game is devastating and I'm sure he would have been here today as well, supporting.
Today is for him. We are going to try to get the win and do the best we can for him.

Man City to honour Ricky Hatton

Manchester City will honour Ricky Hatton at this afternoon's derby with United.

It is understood those at Hatton's beloved club will hold a minute's applause and both sides will wear black armbands in memory of the Mancunian fighter, who was found dead at his home this morning.

Hatton was well known to staff at City and had been due to sit at a table in hospitality for the clash.

The Red Devils have arrived at the Etihad

Ruben Amorim and Co have rocked up to the Etihad, looking rather calm I must say.

The red side of Manchester won't be too put off by not being in their own grounds, as they have a decent track record here, winning 16 times compared to City's 14.

Donnarumma to make his debut

The big news coming from both starting line-ups is that Gianluigi Donnarumma has been handed his first start as Citizen by Pep Guardiola.

Ahead of today's game the Spanish manager revealed what he expects from the Italian keeper.

I always try to adapt to the quality of the players.
I wouldn’t demand ‘Gigi’ do something he is uncomfortable with. We are talking about the best (goalkeeper) I have ever seen with distribution, short and long passes, in Ederson.
We didn’t take Gigi to do what Ederson has done. Gigi has another quality.
The market gave us a chance to take Gigi, who is 26 years old with incredible experience with a big club and a national team in Italy.
He is so tall, he is so huge. All the keepers save shots, bring personality to the team and be a big presence, and he has done that in the biggest games.

Manchester United - Team News

Mazroui and Ugarte get the nod in the middle for this evening's derby, repalcing Dalot and Casemiro.

Whilst Benjamin Sesko will lead the charge at the front in favour of Matheus Cunha.

Pep Guardiola's men in unfamiliar territory

Manchester City find themselves in unchartered waters this season.

Guardiola's men sit way down in 13th after three games after suffering back-to-back defeats against Tottenham and Brighton.

It is the first time since 2004-05 that City have lost two of their opening three games in a campaign.

It is also the Spanish coach's worst start to a league campaign in his decorated career.

He will be hoping he can rally his troops to turn their fortunes around because the last time City lostthree of their first four games, they

Many observers expected Pep Guardiola 's team to shake off the problems of last year, and hit the ground running in with City's brand of compelling football.
