LeBron James has admitted in a new interview that his relationship with longtime partner Savannah has not always been 'picture perfect.'

The couple have been together since high school and have been married since 2013, sharing children Bronny, 20, Bryce 18, and Zhuri, 10.

And while the hoops star and Savannah are still going strong more than two decades in, he indicated on 360 With Speedy that the couple have faced their share of challenges.

'A relationship is never picture perfect,' he told host Speedy Morman. 'But if you're okay with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it.'

'We've been together since high school, so s*** ain't always gonna be a bed of roses, in any relationship, let alone someone you're living with for over 20 years,' he continued.

James, 40, went on to list his keys for a successful relationship.

James admitted in a new interview that their relationship hasn't always been 'picture perfect'

'So I think communication is number one, being honest is number two, number three is, like, you have to be okay with being uncomfortable in relationships sometimes.

'You can't always have it your way, you can't always think that 'my way or the highway.' It's never gonna work that way. The saying happy wife, happy life: that s*** real, bro.'

James, who is entering his 23rd season in the NBA, was overheard discussing in June how Savannah wants him to 'f***ing retire in the next year or so.'

Following stops in Cleveland and Miami (and back to Cleveland), James and Savannah have been settled in LA since 2018, when he signed with the Lakers.

And the four-time MVP has been teammates with his eldest son, Bronny, since last year after the Lakers drafted him in the second round.

James was somewhat non-committal on retirement when asked about it by Morman.

Savannah previously said that she and the basketball star were like 'two peas in a pod''

'Retirement is coming, it is coming,' he said. 'It's just not here yet.'

Earlier this year, James and Savannah gushed about their relationship in Netflix series 'Starting 5.'

'I wouldn't be who I am, I wouldn't have the career that I've had, I wouldn't be who I am, without her,' he said

'We are two peas in a pod,' Savannah added.

James is gearing up to play his eighth season with the Lakers this fall.
