Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic was embarrassingly lobbed from the halfway line during Serbia's World Cup qualifier against Andorra on Tuesday night.

The Serbians headed into the away clash four points adrift of second-placed Albania in Group K, which is topped by England

But their trip to European minnows Andorra got off to the worst possible start when Guillaume Lopez, who plays his club football in his home nation's top-flight, scored from the halfway line.

The hosts' midfielder latched on to a wayward pass from Serbia's Aleksandr Stankovic before drilling a shot from the centre circle over the flailing Petrovic and into the net.

Serbia however soon recovered from the early blip thanks to a Christian Gonzales own goal, before Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandr Mitrovic secured a 3-1 win victory.

The three points leave the eastern European side third in their group, one point behind Albania and eight off England.

The Three Lions secured their automatic qualification for next summer's North American World Cup with a 5-0 victory over Latvia last night.

Harry Kane struck twice, Anthony Gordon and Eberechi Eze added two more, and Maksims Tonisevs turned the ball into the home net to ensure England's smooth passage.

Yet despite his team's successes on the pitch, Thomas Tuchel faced stick from the traveling support after he criticised supporters at Wembley last week for being 'silent' as his side romped to a 3-0 win over Wales.

Fans chanted 'Thomas Tuchel, we'll sing when we want' and 'Thomas Tuchel, are we loud enough for you?'

The German responded to the chants post-match, telling reporters: 'I got a bit of stick in the first half, so fair enough. I take it in good humour, with a good sense of humour. I accept it.

'They had a reason from my last comments and I guess that's fair enough. I found it quite creative. It made me smile and this is how it has to be. It's British humour and I surely can take it. No harm done.'

On the impact England supporters can have on next summer's World Cup, the former Chelsea boss added: 'It's so important. They are here and I said support in Serbia was brilliant.

'The support was brilliant and we are very sure the support in America will be absolutely brilliant. We need it.

Thomas Tuchel was however the subject of chanting from England's supporters, which he responded to post-match

'It makes such a difference if you go out as a player or as a coach and you see the fans behind the team and singing. This is also part of what we do.

'We want to make them proud, we want to make them happy. They should be happy to watch us and they should be able to identify with how we play. We are on our way to building something and top performance from them.'

England and Serbia face each other on 13 November at Wembley in the Three Lions' penultimate qualifying fixture.
