The Las Vegas Raiders have opted to waive quarterback Carter Bradley.

Bradley, 25, joined the Raiders as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 Draft and moved between the active roster and the practice squad in his rookie year.

The decision comes just two weeks before the team's training camp and after the Raiders brought in quarterbacks Geno Smith and Cam Miller in recent months.

Meanwhile, Gardner Minshew - who was a Week 1 starter for the Raiders last year - was also released by the Raiders. He has since signed for Kansas City Chiefs.

Bradley, meanwhile, is the son of former Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley however those family ties were not enough to warrant a chance at training camp.

He did not feature during the regular season for the Raiders however did make it onto the pitch during their 2024 preseason.

In those games, Bradley put in solid displays. Notably, in their preseason finale against the 49ers, he went 9 for 21, for 169 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, back in April, the Raiders announced that quarterback Geno Smith had agreed a new two-year extension.

He signed an agreement with the franchise worth $85.5m with $66.5m guaranteed, making him a Raider until 2027.

Tom Brady's Raiders traded for the quarterback from Seattle in March in a move that sees Smith reunite with former head coach Pete Carroll.

The 34-year-old arrived in Vegas with one year to go on a three-month contract with was worth $31m.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport was first to report Smith's two-year extension.
