Alexander Zverev parties at Manhattan hotspot as he wildly celebrates US Open victory with his inner circle

Newly crowned US Open champion Alexander Zverev was spotted partying in New York City on Sunday, just hours after capturing his maiden title at Flushing Meadows.

Fresh off beating Ben Shelton and lifting the trophy inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, the German star headed into Manhattan to celebrate his monumental victory in style.

In pictures obtained by The Daily Mail, Zverev was seen partying at the exclusive Tao Downtown Nightclub, soaking in the biggest moment of his hard-court career alongside his team and inner circle.

Photos also showed nightclub staff holding a large sign that read: 'US OPEN CHAMPION A. ZVEREV', to remind clubgoers of his achievement.

The 29-year-old had every reason to toast his success after capping an emphatic fortnight in Queens with a four-set victory over American home hope Shelton. 

The celebrations came after Zverev finally banished his Flushing Meadows demons, subduing a New York crowd to win 6-3, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The triumph marked the German's second Grand Slam title of an extraordinary 2026 campaign, adding the US Open trophy to his French Open crown captured in June.

It also offered the ultimate redemption in New York six years on from his agonizing 2020 final heartbreak, where he fell to defeat against Dominic Thiem. 

'We went 30 years without winning a Grand Slam title and now we've won two in the span of three months,' Zverev beamed during his post-match interview. 

'I think God has seen how hard we worked, how much we suffered and 2026 is the outcome of all the years that came before.'

Facing off against Shelton, top seed Zverev took the air out of the building early, breaking the 23-year-old in the opening game before snatching the first set.

From there, he went on to hold his nerve throughout a thrilling second-set tiebreak, dealing a brutal blow to Shelton in front of the raucous New York crowd.

Though Shelton mounted a spirited fightback to steal the third set 7-5, Zverev slammed the door shut in the fourth to pocket a $5.5million winner's check. 

With two major trophies in the bag, the newly minted king of Flushing Meadows ensured his celebrations matched the magnitude of his win on Sunday afternoon. 

On the day, Trinity Rodman made a late dash to be in New York for the end of Shelton's US Open final – only to be left in tears after her boyfriend's loss.

She was wearing a Ben Shelton t-shirt and she caught the attention of Zverev following the match. 'Trinity, I thought you had a game today?' Zverev said in his on-court interview.

Rodman, who this year became the highest-paid player in women's soccer, plays for the NWSL's Washington Spirit and they lost to Boston Legacy on Sunday afternoon. 

That match kicked off at 1pm ET, an hour before the US Open final, with Rodman named in the Spirit starting XI.

'It means everything [that she came],' Shelton said afterwards. 'I knew it was going to be pretty close to impossible to get here, but even just making the effort and trying is insane. She kind of showed up as I was losing, which for her probably sucked.

'But we've made a lot of sacrifices for each other. We've traveled the world to try to support each other when we can. It means a lot.'

He added: 'So many people have showed up for me, and that's what this is all about, being able to share these moments, share these two weeks with my best friends, my family, people I love. That's why I'm out here doing this. That's why I enjoy it so much. That's who I want to get over the line for.'
