Vinicius Jr's house catches FIRE as 'smoke fills two floors of his home' - and update is given on Real Madrid star's property

Vinicius Jr's house in Madrid reportedly caught fire on Thursday morning - just hours after his love life scandal set social media ablaze. 

An electrical fault cause the the fire to break out in the false ceiling of his basement sauna and smoke filled two floors of his property, according to Spanish outlet Marca. 

The Real Madrid player was unscathed because he was on the other side of the world training with Brazil Seoul, South Korea.

And in a stroke of good news, there were no reported injuries or poisonings from the incident. 

The fire service was called at around 11am (Spanish time) to his address in La Moraleja, Alcobenda, and two crews arrived to snuff out the flames. 

But it is another distraction for the 23-year-old in what has become a scandal-ridden season. On Wednesday evening, he issued a public apology to his girlfriend after admitting to 'careless' behaviour - although he insisted they were not an 'official couple'. 

The 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up said he wanted to start again with Brazilian presenter and influencer Virginia Fonseca with 'no lies' and 'lots of love, affection and respect.' He had been caught red-handed messaging another model. 

'We all go through moments that make us reflect and grow,' he wrote on Instagram. 

'Recently, I experienced a situation that made me reflect and recognise attitudes that did not represent who I want to be or the type of relationships I want to build.

'Virginia is an incredible woman, an admirable mother, and someone for whom I feel enormous affection and respect.

'Since we met, she has come to Madrid three times to see me, leaving behind her routine, her commitments, and her life just to be with me. I met an admirable mother and an incredible partner.

'Although we were not yet officially a couple, there was a sincere connection.

'I am not ashamed to admit that I was careless, that I did not respond in the best possible way and that I disappointed her.

'That is why I want to apologise publicly, with an open heart, because I understood that a true relationship only exists when there is respect, trust and transparency.

'The idea now is to start all over again. No lies, no fights, no masks. With lots of love, affection and respect.'
