Sydney Swans ruckman Brodie Grundy has tied the knot with long-time love Rachael Wertheim at an intimate ceremony in Adelaide this week.

The couple have been together since their school years in Adelaide, with reports suggesting they began dating around 2012.

The 31-year-old footballer grew up in South Australia and finished school at Cabra Dominican College in 2011.

He and Rachael have been together for over ten years, often sharing photos from their travels around the world.

Wertheim is a physiotherapist with a Juris Doctor degree, and she relocated her work to Sydney following Grundy’s AFL move.

She is also a health and legal professional who has worked at the Northern Hospital in North Bondi since Grundy left the Melbourne Demons to join the Swans at the end of 2023.

The wedding comes after a long engagement and there were plenty of footy star's and WAGs in attendance

The couple announced their engagement in December 2023, after Grundy revealed the news at a press conference.

Now they have finally married at Kingsbrook Estate in Currency Creek, South Australia

Wertheim wore a sleek corsetted gown, while Grundy looked sharp in a black tuxedo.

The venue featured sage green draping, abundant florals, and soft candlelight.

A host of AFL stars attended the wedding, including former Collingwood players Trey Ruscoe and Taylor Adams (now at Sydney), Mason Cox (Collingwood), Luke Parker (the former Swan who is now at North), and current Sydney gun Chad Warner.

'Some people are there for a time in life and others are there for a lifetime,' Cox posted.

'I can’t wait to see these two grow and experience a lifetime together. I’m incredibly grateful for our continued friendship.'

Grundy was traded to the Sydney Swans in October 2023 and debuted for them in round 1, 2024, recording 33 hit-outs and 23 disposals.

He played every game that season and finished fourth in the club’s Bob Skilton Medal.

Grundy was widely regarded as the recruit of the year and was considered in All-Australian discussions.
