San Jose Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said he would 'give up' one of his children for a win after the NHL team suffered yet another loss.

The Sharks are the only team in hockey who have yet to win a game this season. They are 0-5 to start the new campaign.

San Jose was beaten 3-0 by the Pittsburgh Penguins over the weekend and after the game Warsofsky failed to hide his frustrations.

'It sucks. I keep telling myself that there's got to be a reason why this keeps on happening,' he said. 'I'd give up one of my children for a f***ing win.'

The San Jose coach then apologized for cursing but said his team was 'very, very frustrated and we're going to keep working at it.'

The Sharks have repeatedly made slow starts in recent years but Warsofsky believes this team has the resolve required to reverse their fortunes.

'[We have] a lot of new players,' he said. 'We have to just keep working, keep teaching from the coaches, keep preparing them.'

The Sharks were also forced to issue an apology to fans after a message appearing to support US Immigration and Customs Enforcement flashed on the scoreboard during Hispanic heritage night on Saturday.

'SJ SHARKS FANS LOVE ICE !! GET 'EM BOYZ !' read the message.

A video of the incident surfaced on social media, with boos heard among the crowd in response to the pro-ICE message.

The Sharks addressed the controversy after their 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, explaining that the 'offensively worded message' was an external fan submission that should not have been displayed.

'Sharks Sports & Entertainment deeply regrets that this message, which does not meet our organization's values, was not detected during our standard review process,' the statement continued. 'The Sharks organization sincerely apologizes for this oversight, and we are actively working to determine the origin of the message.'

The fan message was posted on 'Los Tiburones Night,' which is the team's ninth annual celebration of Hispanic heritage.
