Josh Allen managed to humiliate himself on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, even though his team recorded a potentially season-defining victory against Patrick Mahomes and his men.

In the fourth quarter during his team's eventual 28-21 win at Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills quarterback slid down with the ball under his arm as Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton closed in on him for a six-yard gain.

As Allen hit the ground, Bolton brushed the side of his helmet as he ran past and Allen flopped his head back as if he had taken a heavy hit to the helmet.

But the replays showed Bolton made minimal contact with Allen and the Bills quarterback clearly exaggerated the impact from the Chiefs player.

CBS analaysts Jim Nance and Tony Romo were quick to mock Allen once they'd seen the replay.

'Oh, that's a little acting, a little bit there,' Romo said, before sarcastically adding. 'Oh no that hurt so bad.'

The moment marred an otherwise outstanding day for Allen, as his team downed the Chiefs

Tony Romo: "Oh, that's a little acting..."

Jim Nantz: "He's got an offseason home in Hollywood..."

Nance, perhaps referencing Allen's acress wife Hailee Steinfeld, said: 'He's got an offseason home in Hollywood. Maybe signing up for a few more comercials down the road.'

After getting back to his feet, Allen was seen laughing to himself about the incident and referees didn't penalize Bolton.

But fans watching the big game of Sunday from home were left deeply unimpressed by Allen's antics.

'Josh Allen with an outrageous flop trying to draw the flag,' one fan wrote on X, sharing a replay of the incident.

Another said: 'Once again Buffalo Bills' very own Josh Allen trying to flop for a call. Bills Mafia should be embarrassed.'

It was black mark against an otherwise magnificent performance from Allen, who completed 23 out of 26 passs for 273 yards, throwing for one touchdown and rushing for two more.

Mahomes didn't have his best day numbers-wise, completing 15 from 33 for 250 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

'It was a team effort, a lot of hard work went into this. A great week in practice,' Allen said on the field after the game. 'Go Bills.'

Allen and his team are 6-2, a win behind AFC East leaders New England Patriots.

The Chiefs are 5-4, third in the AFC West going into a bye week next weekend before facing divisional leaders Denver Broncos.

The Bills, meanwhile, look to build on Sunday's win when they meet the struggling Miami Dolphins.
