Ryan Clark joins ESPN's huge new NFL rival just weeks after being ruthlessly fired mid-show

Over a month after he was brutally let go while on-air with ESPN, former NFL analyst Ryan Clark has landed on his feet at a new company.

Clark is taking his popular interview podcast 'The Pivot' to Netflix years after the show ended its relationship with Fanatics. The former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back hosts the show alongside ex-NFL linebacker Channing Crowder and ex-Jaguars running back Fred Taylor.

The move comes weeks after Clark was informed he was being let go from the company while he was recording an episode of 'NFL Live' before he left mid-show.

Netflix and the people behind the podcast agreed to a multi-year partnership which will bring video episodes to the platform beginning September 8, according to Boardroom.

The hosts will stream new episodes exclusively every Tuesday and Friday. The show's back catalog is also going to move to Netflix, while also remaining on YouTube.

Clark will also give Netflix first-look rights on all new content from Pivot25 Productions, a company he co-founded with Alicia Zubikowski. Bonus episodes will be produced by Netflix.

'I've gained a new perspective: passion over platform, and people over perception,' Clark said in a statement. 

'I'm grateful and excited to take [The Pivot] to Netflix. This is the beginning of a beautiful new chapter … The story is far from finished.'

One of his former ESPN co-workers, Stephen A Smith, posted on X: 'YYYEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!! Hell Yeah! That’s what I’m talking about, Fellas. So Happy for y’all. So proud of y’all. Congrats!…..you already know, bro! Love ya!!!!'

Clark has independently produced The Pivot since January 2025. The show previously was part of Fanatics before the show left the company after agreeing to a 'multiyear, exclusive partnership.' The separation was described as mutual by Front Office Sports.

This acquisition by Netflix has expanded the company's push into video podcast live streaming.

Last year, the streaming giant agreed to deals with Spotify and The Ringer to bring video versions of The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Zach Lowe Show.

Netflix also agreed to an eight-figure deal with Barstool Sports in December to simulcast Pardon My Take, Spittin' Chiclets and The Ryen Russillo Show.
