England will play at least one game away from Wembley at the 2028 European Championship.
Should they qualify, the Three Lions will hit the road for one of their three group games, with the homes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Aston Villa, Manchester City or Newcastle United in the running as a host.
If England then progress to the round-of-16, they would also play a match away from the national stadium.
The tournament is being held in England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. A full schedule will be announced next week, but the fixture list will be a shift away from the 1966 World Cup and the 1996 Euros, when all England games were at Wembley.
All home nations will play three of their four games in their own country, while the opening match is set to take place in Cardiff, with the desire for Wales to kick things off according to The Times, who first reported the story.
Two of the games that were set to be hosted in Northern Ireland, before its withdrawal thanks to the fiasco surrounding the redevelopment of Casement Park, have been switched to England. Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will pick up the third.

Of England's three group games, two will be played at Wembley with the other to be at either the home of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Aston Villa, Manchester City or Newcastle United
Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and Hampden Park in Glasgow will each stage six matches, including a round of 16 clash and a quarter-final. Both semis and the final will be played at Wembley.
While the four hosts will take part in qualifying, two slots in the 24-nation finals will be reserved for host nations which fail to qualify. In the event that more than two fail to punch their ticket, UEFA will select the two which performed best in qualifying. Any others would miss out.
Meanwhile, the FA last week sent staff to the US’s West Coast to scout potential training bases for next summer’s World Cup.
The preferred destination remains Kansas City, due to its location in the centre of the tournament, but Thomas Tuchel wants an alternative on the Pacific should England be drawn in the group which stages games in Vancouver, Los Angeles and Seattle. Oregon, in the north-west, was visited and is the home of kit suppliers Nike, and their impressive campus.
England still want to complete a pre-World Cup camp in Miami, to allow the team to acclimatise, before heading to a tournament base. They will learn their fate when the draw is made in Washington DC on December 5.
