The eighth round of Premier League fixtures has now come to an end with Manchester United's 2-1 win over Liverpool being the major surprise of the weekend. 

Harry Maguire's 84th-minute winner upset the odds at Anfield and caused champions Liverpool to suffer their fourth straight defeat.

Manchester City have leapfrogged Liverpool into second place thanks to two goals by Erling Haaland (who else?!). 

Arsenal continue to sit pretty at the top of the table with their 1-0 win at Fulham showing they have the mentality to secure a narrow victory away from home. 

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth shared the spoils at Selhurst Park in a six-goal thriller while Chelsea's 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest saw Ange Postecoglou lose his job after just 39 days at the helm.

Sunderland continued their impressive early-season form with a 2-0 win over basement boys Wolves while Burnley defeated Leeds United by the same margin.

There were also wins for Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford against Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham respectively.

LobeHyssopAge topped the leaderboard by predicting all seven outcomes and being just a minute out in the tie-breaker. 

Daily Mail's Jack Gaughan scored three points out of a possible seven thanks to wins for Chelsea, Burnley and Manchester City. 

He failed to back Sunderland, Arsenal, Villa and Man United. 

Gaughan sits in second place in the experts league, just four points off leader James Sharpe.
