Golf glamour girl Paige Spiranac broke down in tears on Instagram after sharing some of the horrific abuse she has received from online trolls.

The influencer, who has amassed four million Instagram followers thanks to risqué photos on the golf course, is currently competing in The Internet Invitational, a team golf event hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports.

Spiranac admitted she was devastated by viewers' reactions to her, sharing a screenshot of one vile message she had received.

It read: 'I f***ing hate you. You stupid b**** think you're so much better than everyone at the internet invitational. Go kill yourself you stupid c***'.

Spiranac followed it up with an emotional response, during which she started to cry as she explained the difficulties she has socializing.

The 32-year-old said to the camera: 'Thank you so much for all the really kind messages. It truly means a lot to me. I don't normally do this but this hate, for some reason, has just been really hitting home for me.

Spiranac shared some of the backlash she received following the Internet Invitational event

'I've struggled socially my entire life. I've struggled in big groups of people, making friends, keeping friends, relating to other people, reading social cues, saying the right thing at the right time. It's just been really hard for me my entire life.

'I know that might sound weird considering what I do but I'm just not effortlessly liked. It's just hard for me in big groups of people. So at the Internet Invitational, I was really excited because I felt like I could fit in in the industry and be there for my team and show up. I was really excited about it.

'So it's just been really hard to see this reaction to being so unliked. I hate it. I know there are more important things in life than wanting to be liked but I do want to be liked and I want to fit in.

'I've tried for a lot of my life to find places where I can fit in and when I was at the Internet Invitational I felt really good. Now to watch it back and these deep insecurities from childhood or whatever are coming back and it's confirmation that you're actually not liked. You're annoying, no one likes you and you suck and you're terrible.

'It's just hard because you feel good in that one moment and that maybe you're going to be liked and fit in. And it's like "just kidding. Everyone hates you".'

The Internet Invitational is a Ryder Cup-style event, which features a collection of 48 top YouTube golf creators playing various golf formats with a staggering $1million up for grabs.

Spiranac found herself at the center of some drama on the first day of coverage when she revealed that her partner for the first two matches, Roger Steele, had some 'unresolved beef' with Jake Adams.

Steele was captured mocking his opponent after Adams misread a putt and complained about him giving him a putt 'under his breath.'

'Roger and Jake Adams had unresolved beef so Roger was more fired up than normal in that match for good reason,' Spiranac said on X on Thursday night.

Spiranac also got in on the action when she was shown complaining about how long Adams stood over the ball on one tee box.
