Nottingham Forest announced the sacking of Ange Postecoglou on Saturday in a blunt 38-word statement.
The Australians' brief tenure ended less than 20 minutes after a 3-0 home defeat by Chelsea, which left Forest winless in eight games and 17th in the Premier League table.
Postecoglou was appointed in early September following Nuno Espirito Santo's dismissal but managed only two draws in eight matches across all competitions.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis took the decision immediately after Saturday's final whistle, frustrated by another lifeless display at the City Ground.
The club's statement, issued on Saturday afternoon, read: 'Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.
'The club will make no further comment at this time.' More to follow.
