NFL influencer forced to deny viral rumors that she is having an affair with engaged college football quarterback

Peighton Tubre, a Louisana-based football influencer, has been forced to deny that she is having an affair with the LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier after seeing fake reports spread on Facebook.

The frustrated reporter shared a video on social media after noticing the stories had gone viral and that people had been contacting her family members about the false claims regarding her personal life.

Tubre said: 'I'd like to address some of the fake news that has been circulating about me on the internet. 

'Recently, there was an article posted on Facebook saying that I was having an affair with Garrett Nussmeier and that we were seen entering a hotel room together the night before one of his games

'When I first saw this post on Facebook it had 30 likes and I was like "you know what, I am not going to be bring attention to this, this is stupid". I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it.

'Spoiler alert, everyone saw it. Everyone has seen it. People are blowing up my phone people are reaching out to my family members which is really weird.'

But things got worse for Tubre, 26, when she spotted another fake report on social media. 

She explained: 'So today, someobody sends me another article that they posted saying that Garret sent me unsolicited photos that made me uncomfortable and I posted the screenshots on social media which, if you follow me, you know I didn't post anything like that.

'It is just fake, it is all fake. That's really all I have to say, it is just fake.'

Furthermore, Nussmeier proposed to his girlfriend, childhood sweetheart Ella Springfield, back in July. 

On the football field, the 23-year-old Nussmeier has endured a difficult year for LSU, who fired coach Brian Kelly last week. 

Earlier in October, he went viral for crying on the sidelines after LSU were beaten by SEC rivals Vanderbilt. 

LSU meet Alabama this weekend in one of the standout games of the college football schedule.

Nussmeier returned for a fifth year at LSU after having a career season in 2024, in which he passed for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns.

'God brought me to LSU for a reason. I always wanted to win a national championship here,' he previously told SEC Network of his decision to come back.

'It wasn't about winning a Heisman or being the first overall pick. It was just about winning championships, so having that opportunity, I just couldn't pass it up.'

Tubre received support from her thousands of followers and she explained to one how ridiculous she finds AI-generated stories linking her to the young quarterback.

'This account posts the most comically ridiculous AI-news ever lol,' she said to one follower. 

'They made a post about Garrett Nussmeier being a “Dancing with the Stars sensation”'.

Tubre has 9,500 followers on X but 216,000 people follow her on Instagram
