The New York Giants are reportedly eyeing a new wide receiver for Jaxson Dart as the NFL trade deadline approaches.

Brian Daboll's team turned heads earlier this week when, as revealed by ESPN, they freed up salary cap space by adjusting deals for cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland.

That gave them an additional $4.8million to play with and now, according to the New York Post, the Giants are in the market for a new wideout to fill the void left by Malik Nabers' ACL injury.

The NFL trade deadline is 4pm ET on November 4 and a number of big names have emerged as possible targets for Daboll's team.

According to the Post, they include Jauan Jennings (San Francisco 49ers), Jaylen Waddle (Miami Dolphins), Chris Olave (New Orleans Saints), Jakobi Meyers (Las Vegas Raiders), Dontayvion Wicks (Green Bay Packers), Jerry Jeudy (Cleveland Browns) and Calvin Ridley (Tennessee Titans).

New York is building around a new quarterback,  Dart, and a new running back, Cam Skattebo.

Star wideout Malik Nabers will miss the rest of the NFL season after suffering a torn ACL

The two rookies have helped breathe new life into a season that was threatening to descend into disaster.

Despite losing their opening three games of the season, the Giants are now 2-4. Daboll's team face the Broncos on Sunday on the back of a huge win over reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.

But New York is still short of receivers after first-round draft pick Nabers suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The 22-year-old was hurt while trying to catch a ball during the the Giants' 21-18 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last month. An MRI later confirmed Nabers had torn his ACL.

He is joined on injured reserve by Da'Quan Felton and Bryce Ford-Wheaton, while  their fellow receivers Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt are both questionable heading into Week 7.

It means that in Denver, Daboll could be forced to rely on Wan’Dale Robinson, Beaux Collins and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.
