Shedeur Sanders had $200k worth of items stolen from his home in Ohio while he made his NFL debut for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, according to reports.

The rookie quarterback, 23, became the latest athlete to be targeted by thieves at the weekend, with ProFootballTalk first breaking the news of the burglary on Monday evening.

It was initially unclear whether anything had been taken from his home, but now TMZ Sports is reporting that $200k in property was stolen during the raid.

Three suspects wearing masks and gloves are said to have entered Sanders' home at around 6:46pm, a new press release states. They were also seen making their way around several parts of the building on surveillance cameras.

The suspects are then believed to have left the pad at around 6:58pm with 'various property belonging to Mr. Sanders'.

The incident remains under investigation, with potential suspects yet to be identified.

Sanders is the latest NFL star to fall victim to a burglary while competing on the field, following the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow.

NBA players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant also saw their homes raided while on the court this year amid a worrying rise in big-name athletes being burgled.

Sunday proved a rollercoaster for Sanders, who followed the seismic high of his NFL debut by hearing that his home had been broken into.

Following a head injury to starting signal caller Dillon Gabriel in the third quarter, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski called upon the 23-year-old to step into the game.

Shedeur, one of NFL legend Deion Sanders' three sons, was met with loud cheers from fans inside Huntington Bank Field, footage showed, as he ran to midfield and prepared for his very first NFL snap.

Reports even claimed that the Browns offense had to shush the crowd as they prepared for his first competitive play as a Cleveland player.

But the former Colorado star was unable to inspire Cleveland to victory as the Baltimore Ravens edged Sunday's game 23-16.

Sanders had the chance to orchestrate a game-winning final drive and he led the Browns to the Baltimore 25-yard line. But the quarterback failed to find anyone in the end zone.

He ended the night with 16 rushing yards and 47 passing yards after completing four  of his 16 passes. He also threw one interception and was sacked twice.
