It's that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it's sure to be a busy period as clubs look to make big signings ahead of the new season.

Here are today's latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team...

United youngster linked with Feyenoord 

Manchester United forward Chido Obi Martin has emerged as a loan target for Feyenoord.

The Dutch side, coached by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, want cover in case they lose a forward in the final stages of the window.

Obi Martin, a Denmark U21 international, had interest from Cologne earlier in the window.

Feyenoord would also offer Champions League football.

Forest close in on Delap deal 

Nottingham Forest and Chelsea are closing on a £45million deal for Liam Delap.

Talks intensified on Monday following Chelsea's game at Fulham and a verbal agreement is in place for the 23-year-old to link up with Oliver Glasner's team.

He is expected to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours.

United complete Baleba deal

Manchester United have announced the signing of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba in a £70million deal. 

‘I cannot wait to work with Michael Carrick; his experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect coach to help me to reach the highest level,' said the 22-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

‘The ambition of everyone at the club is extremely clear, the future is hugely exciting, and I am determined to play my part in delivering the success that we are capable of together.’

Gonzalez says goodbye to City ahead of £50m Newcastle move 

Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez is travelling to the North East to finalise his £50m move to Newcastle United.

The 24-year-old Spaniard will undergo his medical in the next 24 hours.

Gonzalez said his farewells to City team-mates this morning and the deal is set to be £47m plus £3m in add-ons.

City defender Kabore set for Wrexham medical

Manchester City defender Issa Kabore is due for a medical at Wrexham after they agreed a £2million fee. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Wrexham and wants to continue with the club as they attempt to take the next step up to the Premier League.

Kabore, who has 55 caps for Burkina Faso, has had eight loan spells since joining City from Mechelen in 2020.

Ipswich Town want £9m for Wrexham target Anis Mehmeti and Birmingham City are also interested.

Bees still buzzing about Diouf 

Brentford are continuing discussions with West Ham for left wing back El Hadji Malick Diouf. The Senegal international joined last summer from Slavia Prague for £19m but had an indifferent season.

Forest talk over £13.6m move for Andre

Nottingham Forest are in talks over a £13.6million move for Corinthians midfielder Andre.

The 20-year-old only made his league debut a year ago but has quickly established himself as one of the best young midfield talents in the Brazilian league.

AC Milan attempted to sign him in January but he wanted to see out the season with Corinthians. Crystal Palace have also been watching him .

Forest have been looking to strengthen their midfield since selling Elliot Anderson to Manchester City.

They have made offers for Lucas Bergvall at Spurs and Tijjani Reijnders who left City for Al Qadsiah.

Forest have also opened talks with Celta Vigo for right-back Javi Rueda.

Forest are discussing an £8m offer for the 25-year-old who joined Celta from Real Madrid in 2024.

Villa enquire over Kofane 

Aston Villa have made an enquiry to Bayer Leverkusen for striker Christian Kofane.

As well as working on Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, Villa want another forward.

As Daily Mail Sport revealed, they were rebuffed in an enquiry for Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta but have now turned to Kofane.

The 20-year-old's agent was in England earlier this summer talking to the likes of Everton and Arsenal.

However, at this stage Leverkusen do not wish to sell.

Wrexham close on £8m move 

Wrexham are closing in on a move for highly-rated Angers wing-back Jacques Ekomie as they look to bolster their side for a Premier League push.

Phil Parkinson has been keen to add to his squad before next week’s deadline and it’s understood there has been a breakthrough with Angers for Ekomie, who is valued at around £8million.

Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac were in attendance for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Watford and Parkinson revealed he had a ‘good chat’ with the Hollywood pair about transfers.

Ekomie has been a man in demand this summer with interest from Hamburg and West Ham but Wrexham are confident they have won the race to land the 23-year-old. 

Wrexham's first bid for Ekomie, rejected on Friday, was £4.3m. 

They are also trying for Millwall forward Femi Azeez and Ipswich's attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti.

Olympiacos in for Edson 

Olympiacos have made an offer to take West Ham defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez on loan.

The Mexico international has also had interest from Real Sociedad and Ajax so far.

Doncaster living the life O'Reilly

Doncaster Rovers are set to sign Aston Villa starlet Tommi O’Reilly on a season-long loan.

A plethora of clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday, have been interested in the midfielder who got over 20 goal contributions in League Two last season while on loan at Crewe.

Tottenham seal Savinho deal

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Manchester City winger Savinho. 

Daily Mail Sport reported last week that a fee had been agreed comprising £75m plus £10m in add-ons.

Roberto De Zerbi's side lost 3-0 at Brentford in their Premier League opener and their new signing will come into the mix ahead of tomorrow's League Cup clash with Charlton. Spurs are also expected to bring in Omar Marmoush in a double swoop from City.

Savinho said: 'It's taken a while but I'm very happy to be here. It's a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

'As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.'

De Zerbi described Savinho as 'a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.

Ethan Pinnock is due to have his medical at Coventry today ahead of singing a three-year contract with an option to extend.

The promoted club agreed a £6m fee with Brentford for the 33-year-old defender yesterday.

Chelsea in talks over Guiu exit 

Napoli are continuing talks with Chelsea for Marc Guiu and defender Mamadou Sarr’s proposed loan to Sociedad is progressing. Chelsea have asked about Atalanta defensive prospect Honest Anahor. 

Villa look at Leao deal 

Aston Villa are exploring the finances of a deal for AC Milan's Rafael Leao.

Daily Mail Sport reported last night that the club had made contact over the winger, 27. Turkish giants Galatasaray remain in the mix for the Portuguese as well.

Bakwa off to Lille 

Nottingham Forest winger Dilane Bakwa is joining Lille on loan.

The 23-year-old signed for Forest from Strasbourg last September in a deal worth £30million but has failed to have the desired impact.

He is due for a medical today and will play in the Champions League with Lille.

City set to go back to Enzo

Manchester City are expected to go back in for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues previously set City a deadline of 5pm on August 13 to pay £120m to get the deal done - a deadline City did not meet.

But contact has continued with his agent Javier Pastore so City know the 25-year-old is open to coming and now they are set to come back in for the midfielder, who played the final half-hour of Chelsea's 3-2 win away at Fulham on Monday night.
