Who is bigger: Liverpool or Manchester United? We asked our football experts - and they came down overwhelmingly on one side. Now have YOUR say

As the great titans of the north-west meet at Anfield today, with the world watching as usual, it is Liverpool’s levers and gears that continue to propel them forwards with United thrashing about seemingly without direction in their rear-view mirror.

Now it is United clinging on to such intangibles as legacy and history.

Let us know who you think is the bigger team?

IAN LADYMAN: At Anfield this week they have been handing out league championship medals to ex-players who - because of old rules - weren't deemed to have played enough games at the time.

'Team news is in and there's a few grumbles from the Liverpool fans'

Lewis Steele reporting from Anfield:

Team news is in and there's a few grumbles from the Liverpool fans as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike are both on the bench again.
It is an unchanged XI from the team that lost at Chelsea as Arne Slot has gone with his tried-and-tested midfield.
Personally I thought Wirtz was brilliant in the second half against Chelsea and could have had a couple of assists but for bad finishing - so it is a shame he has been benched again.

Any One Direction fans out there?

Former member Niall Horan is in the building today to watch what we all hope is a cracker of a game.

Man United fans might not want to listen to what he has to say though as he's hoping for a home win.

And the last time here was at the infamous grounds, was to watch the seven-goal thriller back in 2023.

'It is so important that we respond in the right way' - Arne Slot

By Kim Morrissey

Liverpool started this season on fire but have found themselves in a bit of a runt as of late, suffering three straight defeats before they broke for the October international break.

Speaking in today's match programme Slot said:

Losing three successive matches is not something that a club like Liverpool can ever or should ever get used to, which is why it is so important that we respond in the right way.
For this to happen, we all have to pull together on and off the pitch and we have to show proper Liverpool character as it is us – and us alone – who can put things right.
No-one, certainly not today’s opponents, will be looking to give us a helping hand.

Who does history favour?

By Kim Morrissey

Liverpool vs Manchester United has been one of the biggest rivalries in of the past and continues to be in the modern game.

Drama is always sniffing around when the two sides come up against each other but who's come out on top?

Since the 7-0 thrashing the Reds inflicted on Man United in March 2023, there has been nothing to separate the two sides at Anfield.

However, although the Red Devils are unbeaten in their last two outings at Anfield, they have not won at their rivals' grounds since January 2016.

Liverpool wins: 82

Manchester United wins: 91

Draws: 71
