Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown has revealed that he was baptized just days before scoring two touchdowns in the Chiefs' win over the Lions.
The receiver was christened as a child but he decided to take part in the ceremony once more after battling mental turmoil last year.
He was not the only NFL star to be baptized last week. Rookie Travis Hunter has come under fire after he had his own religious ceremony just hours ahead of the Jaguars' game against the Seahawks.
Hunter claimed it 'changed his life' but the two-way superstar went on to make a costly error as Jacksonville was beaten. And Skip Bayless suggested the baptism was 'a stunning indication of where his head is at - or not at - right now. It's not really into football.'
Brown, on the other hand, celebrated his baptism with a game-winning performance against the Lions.
The receiver caught two touchdowns for the first time in four years as Kansas City moved to 3-3 with a 30-17 victory over Detroit.

'All glory to God. I just got baptized Friday, so this whole weekend's been amazing for me,' Brown said after the game.
He also posted a video of the ceremony on TikTok. It showed him being blessed alongside his fiancee Zoei Billions.
It has been reported that the ceremony was conducted by Kansas City's team chaplain, Marcellus Casey and Casey's wife.
'I got baptized when I was younger, but I feel like last year, I had a lot on me mentally,' Brown explained.
'It all boils down to: "Don't worry about the extra stuff." I found myself second-guessing a lot of stuff, and as a believer, that's not what I should do. So to get baptized with my fiancee, it felt good.'
He explained: 'Letting God know that I'm a follower of Him, all of this is a blessing, that's from Him, and I don't take it for granted.'
Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was also baptized earlier this season, while Hunter had his ceremony on the morning of the Jaguars' 1pm game against Seattle.
