Kansas City Chiefs rookie offensive tackle Josh Simmons has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders after being listed on the team's injury report.

Simmons, a first-year player out of Ohio State, has missed practice all three days this week.

According to the team website, the reason for Simmons' listing has been designated as 'not injury related - personal.'

Per ESPN Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor, head coach Andy Reid said Simmons' absence was due to a 'family situation' but did not provide any further details.

Speculation about Simmons' absence has circulated across social media all week after the 22-year-old was ruled out of Kansas City's game against the Detroit Lions.

His absence from that game was announced just a few hours before kickoff took place.

Then, this week, the lineman did not appear at practice. As those absences continued, speculation only grew and rumors continued to spread.

On Wednesday, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about Summons' absence and said, 'I'll keep conversations kind of between us. But I'm always praying for him.

'I'm praying for all my teammates. So, I'm always praying for them, and I'll keep everything else kind of private to us.'

Reid also addressed Simmons' absence Wednesday, saying that general manager Brett Veach was 'handling everything there. And we'll leave it at that.'
