Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation record label has organized the Super Bowl Halftime Show for years, is defending his choice to have Bad Bunny perform at this year's spectacle.

The decision to have the 'Nuevayol' rapper headline the show has drawn criticism from conservatives for having a non-English-performing act at the center of the music world.

However, the 55-year-old Jay-Z believes that the Puerto Rican music sensation is more popular than the media suggests.

Speaking to TMZ, the rap icon - born Shawn Carter - addressed the controversy, telling the outlet, 'Don't let them fool you.'

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell didn't indicate that he had any hesitations about the choice of the Latin artist - born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio - to headline the biggest annual event in American sports.

'I'm not sure we've ever selected an artist where we didn't have some blowback or criticism,' he said.

Jay-Z, 55, said that the Puerto Rican rapper is more popular than the naysayers think

'It's pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching. But we're confident it's gonna be a great show.'

Despite Goodell's insistence that the 'Dakiti' performer will be entertaining, that hasn't stopped other organizations from planning protests or alternate performances.

TurningPoint USA, the political group founded by late MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, is planning an 'All American Halftime Show' - saying the event will be 'celebrating faith, family and freedom'.

On the new website promoting the spectacle, fans are asked encouraged to sign up for more information and are asked about what type of music they want to hear.

One option, referencing the fact Bad Bunny performs in Spanish, simply says: 'Anything in English'.

President Trump, meanwhile, called the NFL's decision to give the Super Bowl halftime show to the artist 'crazy'.

The president told Newsmax that he was unfamiliar with the 31-year-old musician but that the NFL was wrong to give him the prestigious gig given his previously stated dislike for Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

'I never heard of him, I don't know who he is, I don't know why they're doing it, it's like, crazy,' the president said.
