Tragic footballer George Baldock left a £4million fortune to his baby son after drowning in a swimming pool aged 31, it has been revealed.
The former Premier League defender was discovered at his home in Athens in October 2024 after his worried partner was unable to get hold of him for several hours.
There was no alcohol or drugs in his system, an inquest into his death concluded, and the coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
Baldock was set to fly home to England one day after his tragic accident to celebrate his son Brody's first birthday, the hearing was told.
Probate papers have now revealed the former Sheffield United star left a staggering total of £5,781,399.
The net value of his estate was reduced to £4,091,003 once his debts were settled.
Baldock passed away intestate, meaning he had not written a will and the money will automatically be handed to his next of kin.
Court papers seen by The Sun say his fortune will be managed by his fiancée Annabel Dignam 'for the use and benefit of minor Brody Baldock' until he reaches the age of 18.

After his death, the star's grieving family described being in total 'shock' over the tragedy.
Despite being born in Buckinghamshire, Baldock played for Greece 12 times after qualifying to represent the country through his grandmother.
Annabel posted a heartbreaking tribute to her partner on Instagram, writing: 'George, the love of my life, my soulmate.
'The perfect Dad to our beautiful boy. You completed me. You were my world and I know we were yours.
'You are here with me in Brody's smile, giggle and infectious personality. My world will never be the same but I will find a way for Brody. I promise. I love you forever and always G. Your Neen. X.'
Baldock's partner reportedly tried to contact him for several hours without a response, before she got in touch with the owner of his villa in Glyfada, a suburb south of Athens.
After searching the suburban property, they found him in the communal pool and called emergency services.

He was reportedly in the water for several hours before he was found, according to images seen by the response unit.
Baldock's family also released a touching statement which said: 'George, you were the most special father, fiance, son, brother, uncle, friend, team-mate and person.
'Your enthusiasm and infectious personality brought so much love to those that were fortunate enough to know you and those that adored you from the stands.
'We will forever cherish the special memories we have of youand you will continue to live on in your beautiful son.
'You were due to fly home today for us to celebrate his first birthday together, but instead we mourn your loss.
'As a family it has been incredibly touching, but equally so very difficult to read the huge number of tributes written by those that knew George and from those whose life he touched.'
