Former NBA star Kyle Singler has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

Police in Whitehead received a call on Thursday from a woman who said she was being chased by former Pistons and Thunder star Singler.

She told officers he was her live-in boyfriend and was trying to 'get' her child, whom he is the father of, News on 6 reported.

Officers said Singler appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The woman told police he wanted to have sex with her. When she refused, he allegedly threatened to rape her before pushing her to the ground and assaulting her.

KFOR reported that the woman had bruising on her arms and 'finger outlines' on her face. Singler was later taken to Haskell County Jail.

The 37-year-old's arrest comes a year after he posted a series of troubling videos on social media. In them, the former NBA player claimed he had been 'mistreated and abused' and said the world was in the middle of a 'religious war.'

'I have been mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example,' Singler said. 'And I fear for my life every day. And people in my community make me look out as if I'm going to be someone that's going to be a problem and make things difficult for people when I'm only trying to be helpful.'

'I feel like I have a certain way about myself and strength and purpose that does not get valued or get treated properly,' he added.

At the time, police in Medford, Oregon, said they were aware of the videos. 'We are not going to make any comment on any mental health matter with our citizens,' a department spokesperson told TMZ.

The NBA Players Association also confirmed it had reached out to his family. 'We are in contact with Kyle's family,' a spokeswoman told DailyMail.com at the time.

'As with all current and former members of the NBPA, we offer any and all support to players, whether through their biggest successes or times of challenge.'

Several NBA stars voiced concern for Singler after the clips appeared online. Miami Heat forward Kevin Love wrote on Instagram: 'I love you Kyle. Hit me whenever.'

He later added on X: 'To everyone who has spent time with Kyle Singler and whose lives he has touched – please shower him with the love and support he needs + deserves.'

Singler was a college star at Duke University, where he helped the Blue Devils win the 2010 national championship. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four that year.

He went on to play six seasons in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds across 356 games.

Singler later played professionally in Spain before leaving the sport in 2019 for what were described as 'personal reasons.'
