Florian Wirtz is set to miss Liverpool’s clash with PSV Eindhoven as the £116million man was not in training on Tuesday.
The German star picked up an injury during the recent international break and sat out of Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
And Wirtz was not among those being put through their paces at the AXA Training Centre this afternoon, with defenders Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley also missing out.
Wirtz has had a tough start to life on Merseyside but has put in his best performances in the Champions League so it is a blow for the 22-year-old.
Right back duo Frimpong and Bradley are also providing boss Arne Slot with a headache.
Frimpong has been out for more than a month with Daily Mail Sport reporting how he was expecting to spend more than six weeks on the sidelines.

Bradley is not due back for at least a fortnight.
Liverpool have won three of four games in the Champions League this season and have the chance to make a significant step in their pursuit of finishing in the top eight with a win over the Dutch league leaders on Wednesday.
