Former NFL star Jamal Anderson has been arrested in Los Angeles over an alleged physical altercation, according to reports.
According to NBC, police responded to Anderson's home at 11am on Wednesday after the former Atlanta Falcons star was involved in a verbal argument that grew into a physical altercation.
Police told the outlet, they claim, that Anderson allegedly strangled the victim, with paramedics later called to the scene. The victim reportedly denied treatment.
As a result, Anderson was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, police told NBC. Jail records do not indicate an initial court date for the ex-running back.
Anderson, 53, remained in custody overnight, with jail records indicating that he's currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

The former Falcons star enjoyed a successful, eight-year career with the franchise - where he racked up 5,336 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns during his time there.
His crowning moment came in 1998, when he made the Pro Bowl and was named a first-team All-Pro. He would later retire in 2001 due to a knee issue.
Prior to his professional career, Anderson attended El Camino Real High School and played college football for Moorpark and Utah before being drafted in 1994.
Anderson was also well-known for his touchdown celebration which became known as the 'Dirty Bird'.
However, since hanging up his cleats over 20 years ago, Anderson has become no stranger to controversy.
In February 2009, Anderson was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession.
