Diego Costa bulldozed a Chelsea Women's legend with brute force in training ahead of a recent charity match.

The former Spain forward, known for his maverick behaviour on the pitch, sent Gemma Davison flying as they geared up for last weekend's legends' game against Liverpool.

New footage shows the 37-year-old bowling over Davison by leaning into her as he challenged for the ball.

John Terry, who was part of the session, immediately shouted: 'That's a yellow!'

And speaking in a clip on his new TikTok account, Terry said: 'That's Diego in a nutshell. He just doesn't give a s***.

'The ball goes down the channel, and Gem is shielding it a little bit, and he comes running over and just goes BOSH.

'Gem's a legend as well. What a player Gemma was. I sat next to her at lunch after and she was like, "I love all stuff like that."

Costa and Davison - who both won two league titles with the Blues - hugged once she was back on her feet and smiled broadly in a sign that all was well.

It won't surprise fans to discover that Costa has retained all of the ferocity which helped define his days on the biggest footballing stages.

The striker was always known for playing on the edge and that style, coupled with his goalscoring, made him a forbidding presence. He techincally still isn't retired but has been unemployed since leaving Gremio last year.

His feisty temper was on full display in the charity game between Chelsea and Liverpool's legends as he renewed his conflict with ex-Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

Costa saw himself embroiled in a spectacular bust up with old enemy Skrtel, leading to a yellow card in remarkable scenes given the game was classed as a 'friendly' for charity.

The Reds defender was sharper off the mark as the ball was fed to Costa on the left channel, sliding from behind to win the ball from his rival.

Yet Costa was furious with the tenacity of the tackle, and immediately squared up to Skrtel.

Costa, known for his hot temper at times, previously clashed with Skrtel back in January 2015

The referee was swiftly at the scene and brandished a yellow card in the forward's direction.

It's not the first time Costa and Skrtel haven't seen eye to eye, with the pair famously coming to blows during their heyday in a League Cup clash back in 2015.

Costa was charged with violent conduct by the FA after allegedly stamping on both Skrtel and fellow Reds defender Emre Can during the match at Stamford Bridge, picking up a three-match ban.

Both incidents were not seen by referee Michael Oliver, forcing the FA to intervene and take retrospective action.

The first incident with Can occurred close to the technical area and sparked a furious response from the German.

Then, during the second half, Costa appeared to stamp on Skrtel in the Liverpool penalty area.

Brendan Rodgers, the then Liverpool boss, heavily criticised Costa after the game and claimed the striker could have seriously injured Skrtel with the alleged stamp.

'He could easily hurdle over the young player and he directs his studs right on to his ankle, which could've been nasty,' the manager said.
