CLOSE! Crystal Palace 1-1 Man United

Oh my word.

For a bloke who hasn't had a sniff all day to pulkl that out of the fire is pretty darn impressive.

Joshua Zirkzee nearly goes from hero to zero as he is inches away from netting a calamitous own goal.

Noussair Mazraoui tries to clear a cross and smashes the ball against the Dutchman before teh ball trickles just wide.

That would have been one of those hilarious own goals.

SUBSTITUTION: Crystal Palace 1-1 Man United

Ruben Amnorim celebrates the goal by making a change in defence...

A gutted Leny Yoro trudges off the pitch to be replaced by Noussair Mazraoui.

An odd decision, I have to say.

WHERE HAS THAT COME FROM?

Joshua Zirkzee hauls Manchester United level from absolutely nowhere, what a finish.

Bruno Fernandes whips a free-kick to the near post as Zirkzee is forced to the within metres of the byline and you are thinking nothing is going to happen. But then he somehow drills the ball through the bodies, across Dean Henderson, and into the net.

Boy did he need that.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Yikes.

That just sums up this Manchester United performance.

Amad Diallo goes to whip in a cross but ends up smashing the ball into the side netting.

Ironic cheers then come from the home end.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Why has he gone for that then?

Manchester United string together a lovely little move, and Amad Diallo pulls the ball back to Casemiro, who is 30 yards out.

The Brazilian should either shift another pass on or whip in a cross, but he does neither... instead, he shoots.

It's fair to say Dean Henderson was not concerned.

SECOND HALF: Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Right, it's time for us to get going again at Selhurst Park.

Has Ruben Amorim made any changes at the break? Nope. Is that surprising? I think so.

They need a lot to change if they are to come away from here with at least a point.

'United lucky to only be one down'

That was a really poor first half from Manchester United who are lucky to only be one goal behind.

Toothless United

To say that was a shocking half from Manchester United could even be described as an understatement.

Toothless, just utterly toothless.

I didn't think we would see a first half as bad as Tottenham's yesterday for a long time, but it's taken less than 24 hours.

0.01 xG from open play. Mental.

WATCH: Mateta converts at second time of asking

I've been trying to find a video of the first penalty =to show you all why it needed to be re-taken, but I cannot access one.

So instead you are going have to watch the one that counted.

For Jean-Philippe Mateta to be able to calmly slot it away like he did with the added pressure of it being a re-take was incredibly impressive.

The bloke is in some form, isn't he?

HALF-TIME: Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

And breathe.

What an eventful first half, and it ends with Crystal Palace leading by just one goal.

It should be more; I'm not really sure how Manchester United are still in this game.

But they are.

BIG CHANCE! Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Eddie Nketiah...

I have no idea how the striker has not made it 2-0 there. So poor.

Matthijs de Ligt has a stinker and slips over, allowing Nketiah to run through on goal.

He simply has to score but acts as though he has all the time in the world to pick his spot, which he doesn't. He dilly-dallies and allows Luke Shaw to come across and block his effort.

FIVE added minutes

There are going to be five minutes of stoppage time here at Selhurst Park.

Drama to come before the break?
