Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his two children inspired him to give Georgina Rodriguez a 'not so romantic' and off-the-cuff proposal.
The superstar couple sent supporters wild back in August when they announced their engagement after some nine years together.
Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, gleefully shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her glitzy engagement ring. 'Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,' she wrote in a heartfelt caption.
Ronaldo, who admits he's 'not a romantic guy', has now revealed that he didn't plan to propose to the 'woman of his life' the night they got engaged, but it felt like the 'right time'.
'It was like 1am. My daughters were in bed sleeping,' the 40-year-old told Piers Morgan in part one of their new interview.
'One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio (Georgina) and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids come in and say "Daddy, you're going to give the ring to mum and you're going to ask her to get married."

The couple have been in a relationship since 2016 and have daughters Alana, seven, and two-year-old Bella together. She is also the stepmother of his other three children
'I said, "Wow, this is the right moment to say yes." It was the time. I knew that I was going to do it one day but I hadn't planned to do it then.'
'Because my daughters said that and my friends were filming, it was what I wanted and I offered (the ring). I didn't (get on one knee) because I wasn't prepared but it was a beautiful moment. I made a speech.
'It was simple, I'm not a very romantic guy. Well, I am, but I'm not very romantic, not the kind of guy who brings flowers every week to the home. But I'm romantic in my way. It was beautiful and I knew that it's the woman of my life so I did that and I hope that I did it well.'
Revealing more about the ring he gave Georgina, the former Man United star added: 'One thing that I love, she didn't care about the ring.
'She asked me if I was honest, and I said, "I want you and I want to marry you." I didn't cry but I had tears on my eyes.'
It was later revealed that the Ronaldo splashed out an estimated £1.5million on Georgina's extravagant wedding ring.
The piece of jewellery, thought to 15 to 20 carat gold, was described as 'extraordinary' by engagement ring specialist Laura Taylor.
'A diamond of this size is almost certainly set in platinum for security, which also enhances its colour and gives the ring a timeless finish,' she said.

'If the diamond is natural and of exceptional quality in the D-F colour range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily exceed £1.5 million.'
Prior to August's proposal, Ronaldo had been coy about the prospect of a wedding.
In fact just a month before news of his engagement was made public, the superstar was once again cryptic about when he was planning on getting down on one knee.
The Al-Nassr forward said on Netflix: 'I always tell her, "when we get that click." Like everything with our life and she knows what I'm talking about.
'It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I'm 100% sure that it'll happen.'
Ronaldo and Georgina are thought to have first got together back in 2016 during his days at Real Madrid.
They later moved to Turin and Manchester when the Portuguese signed for Juventus and Manchester United before once again relocating to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where they still reside as Ronaldo plays out the latter years of his career at Al-Nassr.
