The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a 14-3 first-half deficit against the upstart Indianapolis Colts to force overtime at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday before Patrick Mahomes engineered a game-winning drive in the extra frame to keep the team’s playoff hopes alive.

After the Chiefs (6-5) forced the Colts (8-3) into a three-and-out on the first series of overtime, Mahomes found receiver Rashee Rice for a 21-yard pass to set up an eventual game-winning field goal by Harrison Butker.

Rice had another strong game since his return from suspension, recording seven catches for 120 yards over the game’s first four quarters before his crucial overtime reception. Most importantly, Rice caught a crucial two-point conversion in the fourth to set up Butker's game-tying field goal.

As part of Thursday’s NFL’s Thanksgiving extravaganza, the Chiefs will face the Cowboys in Dallas, where they played as the ‘Texans’ before moving to Kansas City in 1962.

The Colts, meanwhile, will host the current Texans next Sunday in Indianapolis.
