Bukayo Saka believes that Viktor Gyokeres will score plenty of goals at Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side attempts to maintain their current form in search for their first Premier League title since 2003.

The England international, who was visiting his old primary school as part of his role as Chase football coaching programme ambassador, was put on the spot by current pupils and asked about his thoughts on summer signing Gyokeres.

Saka described his new teammate as 'a good man' and backed him to 'score lots', and it seems that the Swede has settled well into his new club with five goals already in his first 13 matches.

The 24-year-old also reflected on his journey from youth football at Greenford Celtic to becoming a key figurehead in Arsenal’s attack.

‘My grassroots coach Colin, of course he gave me the opportunity to play in the team, when his team was full.

‘He gave me opportunity to have a trial and obviously he signed me and so obviously I'm always grateful to him for that and of course, he gave me that opportunity and after that I went on to get scouted for Arsenal, so yeah, I'm very grateful to him for that.’

This school visit reunited Saka with his old headteacher Caroline Chamberlain and PE coach Leigh Curtin and comes at a key time for the player as he is attempts to put behind an injury ridden last season.

However, he appreciates the importance of being a role model for the future generations despite the pressures of being a professional footballer.

‘I think it's important for the next generation to have role models. I had role models when I was growing up. I think everyone has their own (role) models.

‘And yeah, it's important to have someone to look to and have someone as a reference. If things are going hard, knowing that they've gone through struggles and come out on top as well, and having that belief in yourself also."

Recent YouGov research, commissioned by Chase, shows that four in five children look up to a sporting figure as a role model, whilst one in four are inspired by their coach or PE teacher.

The Arsenal forward, who has enjoyed a prolific start to the season, will aim to keep his momentum going with Arsenal facing Burnley at the weekend.
