Denver Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been hit with a suspension for his unsportsmanlike behavior following Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

The Broncos pulled of a spectacular 33-32 comeback victory over the Giants after being shutout heading into the final quarter.

Wil Lutz's 39-yard field goal sealed the miraculous win in the dying seconds of the thrilling Week 7 clash as Bo Nix and co scored 33 points in the fourth quarter alone.

Yet just moments after Lutz's kick sailed through the uprights, Greenlaw chased after referee Brad Allen and verbally threatened him as he tried to leave the field, according to a statement shared by the NFL on Monday.

'The NFL issued the suspension for a violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1(b), which prohibits 'the use of abusive, threatening or insulting language or gestures to opponents, teammates, officials, or representatives of the League,' the league said in a press release.

Greenlaw has now been a handed a one game suspension without pay. The ban will see him miss the Broncos' clash against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

Something caught my eye from Lutz's game-winning kick yesterday:

After the play, Dre Greenlaw runs after the ref, yelling at him, and the ref actually throws a flag.

It was after the play, and the game was over, so idk what happens.

Just a fine for Greenlaw? Something more? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/LqFTfPV0vV

Denver Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been hit with a one-game suspension

Greenlaw chased after referee Brad Allen and threatened him as he tried to leave the field

He will be eligible to return to Denver's roster on October 27 following the Week 8 matchup. Greenlaw will appeal the suspension, according to Ian Rapoport.

As the Broncos players stormed the field sparking wild celebrations, Allen could be seen removing himself from the fanfare and attempting to make a hasty exit to the sidelines.

However, Greenlaw was hot on his heels and was captured running after the official and screaming at him.

Sunday marked Greenlaw's debut with the Broncos after signing a three-year, $31.5 million contract in March.

He missed preseason and the first six games of the regular season because of thigh injuries.

Greenlaw was caught up in controversy two seasons ago when he became embroiled in a scuffle with the Philadelphia Eagles' head of security, Dom DiSandro.

DiSandro pulled Greenlaw, who was then playing for the 49ers, off Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and shouted at him after a reception in the third quarter of Philadelphia's 42-19 loss to San Francisco on December 3, 2023.

Greenlaw, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play, popped up and reached over two officials to put his hand in DiSandro's face.

Greenlaw was ejected and later fined $10,927 by the league for the unnecessary roughness penalty.

DiSandro was told to leave and walked to the locker room to a rousing ovation from Eagles fans. He was later banned from the sidelines for the remainder of th Eagles' regular-season games that year.
