The Arizona Cardinals have benched Kyler Murray and will continue with Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback.

Brissett has taken over in recent weeks while Murray has been injured, leading the team to an impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.

They are due to take on NFC West rivals Seattle this week and coach Jonathan Gannon has announced Murray will not be starting.

With Murray sidelined by a foot injury, Brissett threw for two touchdowns and ran for a score as the Cardinals beat the Cowboys 27-17.

Brissett made his third consecutive start after the week began with expectations of Murray returning coming off the team's bye.

Instead, the Cardinals pivoted to Brissett, with Gannon saying Murray wasn't quite ready. Arizona, who are 3-5, won for just the second time in the past 18 games when Murray didn't take at least five snaps or sat out entirely.
