WNBA game comes crashing to a halt as a SEX TOY is thrown on the court in Atlanta

WNBA fans were left stunned on Tuesday night after a sex toy was thrown onto the court mid-game. 

In bizarre scenes during the fourth quarter of Atlanta Dream's clash against Golden State Valkyries, the bright green object was chucked from the stands onto the court.

The incident occurred with just a minute left in the fourth quarter, during a clutch Valkyries possession, but officials allowed the game to continue.

Eventually, once the possession came to an end, officials brought an abrupt halt to the game as they addressed the bizarre situation.

Players, coaches and fans were left bemused by the incident and evidently so were the broadcast cameras, who briefly cut to a close up of the sex toy.

As officials debated what to do, an announcement from the arena's PA warned fans that anyone who throws objects on the court will be subject to ejection.

Eventually, after a minute of deliberation, the sex toy was collected by a police officer who had been courtside and taken away.
