Travis Kelce has revealed he considered proposing to Taylor Swift on water but somebody warned him against the idea, forcing him to make a new plan.
The NFL star spoke about getting engaged for the first time on his New Heights podcast on Wednesday morning, a little over a week after the couple went public with the news in a joint announcement.
Kelce made the admission about planning a proposal around water when one of his podcast producers - who he affectionately calls 'Intern Brandon' - revealed he too had recently got engaged, popping the question in the ocean.
Brandon told Travis and Jason it wasn't the smoothest experience, saying: 'My head was bobbing up in the water, holding the ring while kicking your little feet to fight the current. Don't recommend it. Travis did it on land. Much safer.'
Kelce replied: 'I got warned, I got warned. I once thought I would do it on water but you did it. You showed heart.'
Jason joked: 'You thought you'd do it on water. He did it in water!'

Elsewhere, Kelce said that referring to Swift as his wife-to-be makes him 'giddy' inside.
'Thank you guys for the congratulations,' Kelce said to his older brother Jason. 'I appreciate everybody that has reached out and sent something, all the posts and excitement and it has been really fun telling everybody who I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with.
'It has been really fun. It has been awesome.'
Their first public appearance together after sharing the news was at a college football game held at Kansas City Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium, where Kelce said it was special to be introducing Swift as his 'fiancee' for the first time.
Kelce explained: 'Yeah I felt that at the game, it was the first time I introduced Taylor as my fiance to my teammates, it was pretty cool.
'I still get giddy, it's exciting times. It is still fresh.
'It has been so much fun hearing from everybody and seeing the internet go crazy.'
Jason told Travis that he is excited to hear about how they plan their wedding, to which the Chiefs star said: "Oh it's gonna go crazy. That is the next step.'
Kelce is heading to Brazil this week for the first Kansas City Chiefs game of the new season
Kelce was pictured getting down on one knee in his back yard, surrounded by flowers that he had a team organize while Swift filmed her appearance on his podcast, which was broadcast last month.
But for now at least, Kelce's attention is firmly on football. He travels to Brazil on Wednesday as the NFL season starts for his Chiefs team on Friday.
They play AFC West rivals Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo before returning to Arrowhead a week Sunday for a Super Bowl rematch against Philadelphia Eagles.
